My people. My happy place. The ocean, their laughter, salt air, sleeping in late, porch sits, candy kitchen, night walks…. Take me back.

You may remember a few months back I met an incredibly sweet couple for their engagement session in historic downtown Ellicott City Maryland. They were so much fun to work with, and Sarah’s beautiful fiery red hair made every shot epic. After meeting them and hearing about their wedding I couldn’t wait for the day to arrive. Now, here in Maryland we have had one of the most rainy summers that I can remember in a very long time, and for a few days leading up to their wedding it appeared as though their day, with their outdoor wedding would be one of them.. but once that Saturday morning came, things changed… completely. They had one you could describe as perfect weather for a mid summer day in Maryland. A slight breeze, clear skies, low humidity.

Sarah and Jon got ready in Jon’s family’s residence, and it was as busy as a beehive when I arrived. There were family members preparing, and clothes being ironed, children giggling as they ran down the halls. The perfect scene to set the tone for their wedding, which to me seemed to center much around family, and family values. Jon’s father… a minister, performed the ceremony and spoke so much about family values and his children then asked all of jons siblings to join them and pray for them in what was such a beautiful moment, I can only imagine the sense of pride Jon’s parents felt seeing their children gather and support each other like that.

Their wedding was so laid back and enjoyable, hardly any stress which is wonderful for a wedding day. There was a brick over pizza company, a moon bounce, and some incredible tunes playing in the background. There were hugs, and laughter, toddlers with faces covered in pizza sauce, children bouncing away… and so much family love.

congratulations Sarah and Jon, and thank you for allowing us to be a part of your day!
