I have had the honor of capturing this incredible family since Ryan first proposed to Katie, and we captured their engagement session on the beach at Downs Park, then I was blown away by the amazing day they had when they promised forever to each other at the beautiful cloisters castle in luthersville Maryland, what a day that was, and what is more magical then being married in a castle? I have documented Everette’s Newborn portraits, and Christmas, and now it was time to celebrate him turning one, and it was just as incredible as all of the rest! We met on a weekday evening shortly before sunset, with balloons, a smash cake, a bunting banner, and the happiest little boy ever!!! We captured some family portraits, some birthday portraits, and then it was time for Rhett to did into that cake, and boy did he!!! He took his time and savored every bite, as I would do if it were my cake after all it was made by the incredible bakerella more commonly known as Sweet Treats By Joy! Joy is an incredible baker and talented artist. I have seen her take a simple idea such as a sailboat on heavy seas and turn it into a pirate ship being entangled by the tentacles of  an octopus, cakes that look just like designer shoes and handbags, and wedding cakes that are not only jaw dropping but taste amazing, and are covered in edible sparkles! As a Pasadena Maryland family photographer I have had the honor of photographing many of joys cakes, and even spending time with her in the kitchen watching her craft her masterpieces before she sends them off to her clients.
