Meet Emily | Annapolis Newborn Photographer
This little girl was such a dream to photograph, her mama and grandma brought her into the studio the day after they got home from the hospital. Why so soon you ask? Well, Id love to tell you. After any of my Newborn Clients book a session with me, I think the first part of a successful newborn session is client education, so I send them some information on ways to plan for their session and let them know that as soon as they have been admitted to the hospital for baby to arrive to send me an email letting me know so. After they have been given a discharge date, we plan the session for a close to that date as we can. Babies sleep better the younger they are. When we are talking about just a few days here, every day matters. With each passing day they get a little bit more awake, a little bit more alert, and sleep a little bit less deep.
They also really favor their fetal position the closer they are to birth, and so its important to capture them as young as we can to still get them into those beautiful curled up poses that look much like they did on the inside. Many of them can almost pose themselves as they natural put their little feet up into the face and squish back into the form they have held for the last few weeks while they finished growing inside of their mama tucked safely away! Now, does this mean that an older newborn cannot be photographed beautifully .. absolutely not! It’s just easier when they are younger, more preferred. It limits some poses as they grow and develop more muscle tone, and they may have a decent amount of awake shots.. but its still always beautiful to capture a new life.
This sweet baby sleep so wonderfully, she posed so easily and was very snugly.
