When I have clients booked for Fresh 48 sessions and its getting close to their due date, I start to get so excited. I mean, First there is a new baby about to be born, thats already pretty incredible in itself. Next I get to go right up to the hospital and be among the first few to visit that sweet new baby, and finally.. I get to provide that new family with a way of preserving this time in the hospital and that new baby’s “firsts” through beautiful portraits that tell a story.. their story through real, raw, true emotion.

Having had two babies of my own I know what a blur the time in the hospital can be, you are so  so tired, but so full of joy and adrenaline. You have waited for this day for so long and now it  here! In many cases you may be introducing a big brother or sister to the new baby as well and just watching their heart explode as they meet for the first time. Not to mention how quickly babies can change, they loose the scrunched up fresh look in not too long…… these photos are the first chapter in their story and they deserve to be captured!

Not even two years back I was photographing a Fresh 48 session for this family when their first son Constantino was born, and now they have welcomed Leonidas into their family and he is just as sweet as can be. His big brother was giving him all the love in the world one minute, kisses.. hugs… stroking his hair… then the next he gave him a little pop just to remind him that hes the big brother and this is how it will be…. sounds like brothers right?!?!

Melissa looked AH-Mazing after just having a baby, and couldn’t stop looking at her boy with her heart so swelled with love for her new life as a boy mom of two. I was so honored to get to meet baby Leo and capture these memories for her!

Congratulations S family! I am so excited to have Leo on the Watch me Grow plan and photograph your family over the next year!
