For the entire week leading up to Joe & Erin’s wedding I kept a close eye on the weather as I always do prior to wedding days. This time though I knew how much Erin really wanted outdoor bridal portraits. With a wedding taking place in the heart of downtown Annapolis, in one of the most beautiful churches; St. Annes, outdoor portraits are a must. Now, shooting outdoor on a rainy day isn’t out of the question, which is why the car was stocked with rainy day gear and clear umbrellas just incase. Just hours before I left for the wedding my weather app still showed clouds moving in and then rain for the rest of the day. Well, much to my surprise the day turned out to be one of the most beautiful and humid (Thank you Maryland) days of the summer thus far. Of course Erin was excited that we would be able to shoot outdoors as she had dreamed about, and Joe was such a good sport as we walked from location to location in the very thick, warm, summer air of Maryland!

Joe and Erin met a few years back during “Eastport- A – Rockin” so it was only fitting to hold their wedding on the 2017 date for Eastport – A- Rockin… the sweet little town was full of people excited for a good time, while we celebrated an incredibly beautiful wedding reception at Eastport Yacht Club.. one of my favorite venues in Downtown Annapolis! The slight breeze off of the water as the sun began to set was the perfect setting for a beautiful couple. We listened to Toasts from family members telling all of the stories of how the two met, and their relationship, and lives. A lovely dinner was had by all, and then dancing began, but not before my very favorite part of the night, the parent dances. While I love the first dance and the beauty and emotion that comes with it, the parent dances steal my heart and usually a tear or two every time. When I photograph a wedding I don’t every just feel like a vendor, these couples become my friends and they welcome me in like family.. those dances…. I love for them, parents… who still think of the Bride and Groom as their little boy and little girl, will dance one last dance with them as they “give them away”. I often will watch the father of the bride as he pulls his little girl close and I just know that he is thinking through all of the moments since her birth, he is re-living all of the memories, and is blown away by how beautiful she is!

Congratulations Joe & Erin, your day was beautiful and you both are incredible, heres to an incredibly happy life together!
