Emmaline is Seven
It’s hard to image that its been 7 years since we met face to face for the first time, 7 years since I first held in you in my arms, and sniffed your wonderful baby head, and wrapped you up in your first swaddle, or calmed your first cry. You and I, we were made for each other. You were my first, you made me a mama, you showed me a love that I never even knew existed. It was you who opened up the world of motherhood to me, and I will forever be thankful that God hand picked me to be your mama. You are the apple of my eye, in our world you hung the moon, I want to hold you in my arms forever while also giving you your own wings to fly. Watching you grow into the beautiful girl you are has been the biggest joy for me, I love you with the biggest kind of love a mama can have for her first baby. I love our special times together after your sister goes to bed for the night, and when me have mommy big girl dates. You will forever be my baby, even though you tell me every time that I call you that how much of a big girl you really are.
I pray every day that I am making the right choices for you, and teaching you to be a kind human who cares for others. I dont care how well you can read, or write, or if you excel in math or science, as long as kindness and compassion fill your heart then I will know I did a good job. You already care for others so well. Just last night when your baby sister got hurt you did everything you could to comfort her, and even prayed for her. You pray for lakeleigh every night before bed, and give her whatever she wants. You carry her around like she is your baby doll. This year you started a new school and loved it, you are entering second grade. You wear size 7 clothing but are still too skinny for most pants that size. Your curly free spirited hair is captivating but not quite as much as your ice blue eyes and your beautiful smile. You still love a bedtime song, and dont leave without a kiss goodbye. You love shopkins, and playing school. You are obsessed with stationary, index cards, stickers, and pencils…. and snuggling with your mama to watch movies.
I love you far beyond the moon big girl!
