Some big changes are happening around SMP….. we have thought about many of these long and hard, and have decided to not accept any new Wedding Contracts for the remainder of 2021 or beyond, with the exception of Elopements, Small Civil/Chapel Ceremonies, Vow Renewals, and Small Intimate wedding Gatherings (And a few large weddings for close friends and family). There were many reasons and factors that went into this decision. It also certainly didn’t come easily. Covid has certainly changed how the wedding industry operates on a whole. It changed every aspect of it really. Not being able to photograph larger events like I was used to with 250+ guest, grand ballrooms, large wedding parties, and 8-10 hours of coverage, forced me into a role of capturing small intimate gatherings. I loved it, and it allowed me to focus more time on the primary portion of my business where I specialize in Newborns, Children, and Families. Being a part of the small ceremonies is where I feel my fire ignite, working with smaller groups, and quiet moments…. this isn’t to say I do not absolutely love the big wedding days… because I do… But I had to make choices, and after a year of life changing drastically, seeing how it affected my children, my business, and my life as a whole I had to make hard choices that will ultimately make me a better photographer, business woman, wife, mother, and person. Having a large portion of my business surrounding the wedding industry this will take some getting used to, but it aligns with with I am headed, upcoming exciting things happening in my business and the time and attention I desire to devote to my family and children as a Baltimore Family Photographer. So, with that, we have a few more weddings left to shoot this year, and we are so excited for them. It will be bitter/sweet really, it will be an end of a chapter…. these weddings will be special to us in a different way because it’s what we will end with, our last large wedding photography memories. We will still gladly accept brides who are planning Elopements, Small Civil and intimate ceremonies and gatherings, and look forward to those events, and capturing memories. These changes allow for many things at SMP. I strive to create a service based business built on Client Experience, I want you to love your time with us, and enjoy the planning process, and this will allow us more time to walk through all of that with you to better prepare you for an incredible portrait day experience. This will also allow me to provide more weekend availability for portraits, faster turnaround, and exciting new mini session opportunities. My family will see more of me, and… now, that Covid restrictions are lifting the SMP travel schedule will start back up, so if you are reading this from afar and hope to have SMP capture your family on a trip please let us know! Finally this change will allow for me to accept more monthly mentoring/coaching clients. Working with new small businesses owners and those in the creative industry is a passion of mine. Helping them through their set backs, start ups, and early business growing pains, and helping them to become the best version of themselves, and as a business person is so rewarding and fulfilling, so now I can open up more opportunities to take on more coaching clients! If you are interested in learning more about coaching sessions, or mentoring, or a Bride planning a small intimate gathering for 2021 or 2022 please reach out to us as we would love to give you more information! To all of my brides + grooms over the past 10 years….. THANK YOU, each one of you were wonderful , each one of you made a lasting impression, and I was honored to be a part of each one of your memories! |
