A few weeks back I got the chance to meet this gorgeous family as they prepare for the arrival of their new baby girl. They were such a pleasure to work with, and that little guy, the one being promoted to big brother was a true joy. He was so much fun and boy oh boy did he love his mama!!! We walked all around the park that night and talked about all things baby girls, and going from 1 to two, age gaps, siblings, and so much more. It was a lovely evening.

Often times I will book a client for their Newborn session, who thinks that they may not want a maternity session for a variety of reasons. As we get to know each other and get closer to baby arrival most times, mamas change their mind. The closer they get to being done the more they want to recall these moments and all the things that go along with walking this journey of motherhood. I will sometimes meet clients who didn’t have the opportunity to have maternity portraits with their first, and so they question if that is ok to do with their children after that and my thought is always.. Maternity photos aren’t just about the baby you are carrying, they are about the journey, the waiting, this season of life and everyone that you include in it. They are also about you, and the sacrifices you have made for this sweet baby. You all know how I feel…. if you can take thee photos…. take them, never miss an opportunity for more memories to hold onto forever.
