Grandparents and their babies | Annapolis Family Photographer

There are so many things that I love about photography. Aside from just the usual of capturing memories, updating portraits….. there is also the side of preserving things for the next generations. The statistics are very sad on just how many photos taken this year will make it to print, just how many will be lost on cellular devises or never make it off of a USB drive, and even more alarming are the lack of multi generational photos. To me it’s extremely important that my children have photos with all of the people who love them in their lives so that when they are older they can look back at those photos and remember just how valued they are, just how many family members love them, and were there for them as they were growing up. Not to mention that as generations get older not everyone is here forever… I so badly wish that  I had more photos of myself and my grandfather. He passed away when I was teenager but Oh how I miss him. He lived with us for a few years, and we became such close friends however, I have barely any photos of us, and that makes me super sad.

So, when I get requests from grandparents who want photos of them with their grandchildren I get all kinds of excited. There is something very special about the youngest and the oldest together in photos… the newest ones with the most aged, it simply brings even more life into them with smiles you wouldn’t ever see if it weren’t for the youngest ones bringing it out in them. They are like different people when they are around the kids, and I love it. This session was no different. These sweet clients are friends of mine and I loved capturing new, updated portraits for them all together!
