Don’t do it.
Don’t let another season go by without new portraits, and memories. On Friday I sent out a gallery and instantly heard, “I was blown away by the difference in the girls from our last session until now” and their last session was just 2 years ago. I have had the honor of photographing this sweet baby girl since she was first born! From her Newborn session to her quarterly milestone sessions, and even some family shots. I have loved getting to know her family and watch her grow through her first year. We have shot in the studio and outdoors, and even on a beach! I loved working with her mama to plan out her first birthday session and see her have fun with her kitty cake! It’s also a bit bittersweet, sure I love cake smash sessions and the fun that they are and photogaphing sweet 12 month old babies, and documenting this incredible milestone of turning 1. It’s also many times the end of me seeing them every few months. I have some baby clients that stay on the watch me grow after 12 months, as it takes them onto watch me grow and beyond.. through their second year, but not all of them. So while getting to their cake smash is fun, I know I wont get to see them every three months anymore.

Thankfully with all of the styled mini sessions that I offer I still got lots of opportunities to see my clients often outside of just their yearly family portraits and holiday portraits, so I shouldn’t be too sad.

I think getting to the cake smash also reminds me just how fast time passes. how quick babies grow… how quick my own babies grow.  Life happens so quickly, and babies grow and change every day… take as many photos as your possibly can!

This little girl was a joy to have in the studio as she very perfectly ate one finger swipe of icing at a time.. some babies just like to stay clean! Happy Birthday Beautiful girl!
