I have had the amazing opportunity to photograph this beautiful family for the past few years. Each time it has been such a treat to see the boys grow and watch their personalities change, and their smiles get bigger and better! This time we met in the beautiful Historic District of Downtown Annapolis Maryland at State Circle. I really love this park, it has so many great areas for portraits, specifically beautiful staircases. The boys were so much fun to work with again, and so full of energy and great attitudes! Sometimes when you are young and its nice weather outside, taking family photos isn’t really what you have a mind for a good time, but these guys they did it… and oh man was it worth it! We got some really incredible shots of the boys, as well as the whole family together!
When I am working with children I have to try and find some kind of common ground, something that sparks their interest, and gets them thinking we are all friends… so we talk about Paw Patrol, or Mickey mouse, or dump trucks…. in this case it was farm pigs… and how we were on a mission to find some while we walked around. There we not any farm animals present at this location but it was fun looking for them, and it brought upon great smiles when we tried making animal noises while taking pictures. If all else fails, I always keep some fruit snacks and lolli pops in my bag.. juuuuuuust incase… because even kids who aren’t having it… will smile for candy!!

Great photos! Thats such a great idea to keep something on hand for the kiddos! I still struggle with family shoots and trying to keep the little ones happy for the camera. I may have to try this!
