How on earth this sweet baby girl is turning one I just don’t understand. It was just a moment ago it feels like that her parents were bringing her in for her newborn session, and now here we are. She is so incredibly adorable, with the best baby rolls, and big brown eyes…. beautiful!!!! Her family has had such an exciting year. Not too long ago they moved into their new home that they designed and built themselves. I had the opportunity to see it at the end of last summer. At that point it was only studs and roofing, but even then the house was beautiful and had so much character.

For their last session we captured some beautiful golden lit portraits at their community beach as the sun was setting on a lovely warm evening. For this session we captured baby in some darling dresses her mama had brought for her… If you love them as much as I did… I hear you can find them on Nordstroms website. Baby A was totally independent, liked to do her own thing, and smiles a bunch. She was such a happy baby! I hope she is always like that!!

Then it came time for her cake smash. Her mama assured me that she really enjoys food, and while she totally enjoyed it…. she enjoyed it by squishing it in her fingers and smashing it like play dough. A little bit of finger painting even but she just wasn’t real interested in putting too much of it in her mouth. Honestly, more times then not babies are overwhelmed by the whole idea and don’t end up eating too much of the cake, but painting with it is always fun!
