It is an age old tale that rain on your wedding day means good luck. But when your big day, that you have been planning months for, comes you cannot help but be upset if it rains. Our most recent bride knows a rainy day should never get you down and she didn’t let it! We arrived at Walker’s Overlook in Frederick Maryland right along with the storm clouds. As the summer storm brewed, we found our bride relaxing within the estate. Just as we got all of our equipment inside, the sky opened up and poured rain so loudly we had to all speak up to be heard. But nothing shook this bride up as she even said she loved the rain.

We went on with our rain itinerary as planned and decided our first looks should be moved indoors. There is nothing that melts our hearts more than when a father sees his little girl in her dress for the first time. Well this father was one of our favorites. In his dress blues he found his daughter and exchanged some of the most beautiful words that even brought a tear to the SMP team’s eyes. And if you thought that was enough emotion for the day you would be wrong. We then let Tyler see his bride Triza for the first time on the porch. It is easy to see when a couple is in love but this couple takes the cake. This rain loving couple was made for each other.

As the itinerary planned for the couple to wed under the tent the skies had a different idea. Suddenly just a few minutes before the ceremony time the storm stopped and the sun shined and this bride was going to have the ceremony under the Magnolia tree like she had planned all these months. The ceremony was absolutely beautiful as the whole congregation passed the wedding rings around and said a small prayer for the couple.

The reception was full of dancing, wine-ing and dining- but that didn’t stop the groom from taking a few minutes away from everyone to push his new bride on a nearby swing set (no really see the pictures below- it is as cute as it sounds). The girls at SMP could easily consider this a favorite as the couple’s affection was so easy to capture and the day was full of so much fun and laughter. We hope St. Lucia is treating you well and that you two had lots of fun at Firefly Music Festival.
