Annapolis Newborn Photographer Nursing Sessions

Back by popular demand… I will be offering Breastfeeding mini sessions, they will be called “Nurturing mama mini sessions”. They will be open to mamas with babies regardless if they nurse or not. You see, while I understand the nutritional, and physiological benefits of nursing and in fact breastfeed my baby currently, I will never be the one to say “breast is best” because honestly I do not believe it is best for everyone. For many yes, but not every baby. You see with my first daughter, there were some medical issues that prohibited us from having an enjoyable nursing relationship, but due to horrible mom guilt after being told multiple times I had to keep trying at what others felt was best for my baby I ended up with pretty severe ppd, and in the long run wound up bottle feeding her at 10 months anyway, and you know what… we were happy, she was healthy, and I Loved bottle feeding her. I was able to nurture her, sing to her, snuggle her, and feed her… since after all isn’t feeding your baby what is best, however it is that you decide to do that?

With my second daughter, she has been breastfeeding beautifully and I love our nursing relationship.. however.. what I mostly do not want to forget is regardless of breastfeeding or bottle feeding… how my girls held my hand while I fed them, the way they fell asleep while I fed them, the way their tiny feet stuck out under my arm while I fed them, the tiny sounds they made while I fed them, the size they were while I fed them, how they fit perfectly up against me while I fed them, the look on my face when I fed them.

These are the moments, and the details we should wish to remember, and wish for other mothers to experience it shouldnt matter how they feed their baby, just so both mama and baby are having an enriching experience.

These mini sessions will be held in the studio, organic, white linen, natural light style. They will be gorgeous, and they will be emotional, and they will be fulfilling.
