Annapolis Newborn Photographer | Meet Reid

Maybe its the way they smell, or the softness of their skin, maybe it’s because I am a momma, but maybe its more then that…. Long before becoming a mother, or working Labor and Delivery Ive loved children, especially babies. I dont ever recall a time that I was afraid of handling them, or holding them, or honestly not having one in my arms just about everywhere I would find myself. As a teenager I was affectionately named “the silencer” and could calm a baby with colic fairly easily and would be called on by the locals, somehow that “touch” wore off before my own was born who had severe reflex and colic, however I learned new approaches with ” the touch” for her including burning up the motors in two vacuum cleaners to create the loudest white noise I could find…  but that is a story for another day, all of that to say.. Babies… they are my thing, they are my natural, they fulfill me and my goodness sweet chunky baby Reid wasnt any different. Since our families are friends I had been chatting with his mama up until his delivery, and during the hospital stay and first days home she told me how wonderful he was, and that all he did was sleep.. I reminded her not to tell the other moms that :). So naturally I couldnt wait to get my hands on him, I mean of course my job is to photograph them but that means half the time I get to snuggle them, and breath in the incredible-ness of New Baby, I dont think anyone reading this would disagree with me, all is right in the world when a week old baby is napping in your arms!

Well, his momma was right and Reid slept blissfully through the whole shoot, he had not a care in the world until the very end when he got close enough to smell his mama again and realized this time he wasn’t up for more photos rather a nice long nursing snuggle with him mom! Sweet Reid you are every Newborn Photographers Dream!!!
