You do not have to wait until your baby turns ONE to update their portraits. Milestone, and sitter sessions are a quick fun way to grab some new portraits, and capture each stage as they grow.

3, 6, 9, 12 Months, or even 18 and 24 months are great points to capture new portraits.

Don’t let another season go by without new portraits, and memories. As many of you know my Sweet baby girl Lakeleigh turned One last month. Of course I had to plan a cake smash session for her as well. I will be honest, sometimes it gets hard photographing my own children as much as I suggest my clients should be photographing their family. I literally have to mark it on my calendar so that I know I wont forget. Sweet Lakeleighs birthday fell in a super busy month for us, my husbands retirement, our 10th Anniversary, it was busy. To make up for how busy it was going to be I added her sister into a few shots along with her. You know, just to double up on sister shots for the month.

Her cake was created and designed by the ever so talented Joy of Sweet Treats by Joy, and oh boy did it taste just as good as it looks, that woman is a pastry genius! Her birthday party was going to be themed classy vintage unicorn with gold accents.

I will be honest, she wasnt too sure about the cake, and in true lake fashion really didnt like it to be all over her hands, so in order to proceed she wanted her hands to be cleaned off first. IN between every few bites she would cry for her hands to be clean, how funny is that. Her sister jumped in and she tried to feed her a few bites here and there, and the played with the icing!

Happy Birthday sweet girl! You are mommy’s Miracle baby and I am so thankful God blessed us with you to complete our family! I love you way past the moon and back, with the biggest kind of love a mama can have for a tiny girl!
