Lakeleigh 15 months

It’s so cliche to say, I wish I could find better words to describe how quickly the time passes but its true, “it really does feel like yesterday” that this tiny girl was born and now she is 15 months old. I can still feel her newborn soft skin on my chest when they laid her against me her after her intense emergency delivery, when the NICU team whisked her away, they told me ” we will do everything that we can”. As a mother, hearing those words about your newborn that you’ve waited nearly 10 month of pregnancy just to hold in your arms, its cuts you to the very core, in an instant you question everything, you plead with God, you cant even breathe, infact you hold your breath hoping that time wont past… and then I heard her cry, the one that said “Mom, I am ok, you need to breathe” and my heart could beat again, and when they finally handed her to me, before her color had completely returned, and our eyes met for the first time, and the emotions could no longer be controlled, my heart was so thankful, and so protective, I knew in that moment what an incredible gift I had been given. This girl, this 6 pound human was nearly taken from me, I must never take her beautiful life for granted, grateful is an understatement…. I am beyond blessed. Happy 15 months to my sweet girl.

(Yes she is wearing anchors again… have I not told you about my anchor obsession? I love all things nautical and anchors, they fill my home, and clothe my children….. I also love chevrons, but not quite a much as anchors)

This month you mastered walking… and walking very well.. in fact your speed has gotten faster.
You also had your first trip to Dutch Wonderland, and loved the waterpark.
You rode some rides and tried cotton candy (Clearly not a first child)
You visited the aquarium and wanted to get in the water so bad. (you may be the reason I have to color my hair more often now)

You went to the beach a few times and would run right into the water and not stop if I let you.
You are still nursing, when you wake up, at both naps, and bedtime, and now and then if you wake up at night.
You love just about every food, and enjoy trying new things.. you even had crab this month!
You love to cuddle, and fall asleep in my arms at bedtime
You are obsessed with Minions and call them ba-ba and went to the movies to watch them and made it about 25 mins

You and your big sister have such a sweet bond, she loves you, and you adore her

I love you sweet girl, with the biggest kind of love a mama can have for her smallest girl, I want to give you the world while protecting you from it at all the same time.
