Ohhhhh this tiny guy was such a delight, he brought both of his parents with him, and oh my word they were just the sweetest! Easton is their first baby and they are head over heels in love with him, and I can see why, not only was he incredibly adorable but he slept like an angel almost the entire session, a little bit of shushing, some nice cozy wraps, a quick time out to pee all over the set up.. (Dont worry all the babies do it). We had a fabulous time during his shoot, talking about all things newborn, feeding, and nursing, bottles, and pacis.. you know parent shop talk!!! Meanwhile this little guy just kept on dreaming, and of my word his hair.. dont even get me started. he had the sweetest little old man hair line and a darling button nose, I mean for his first modeling gig every he totally nailed it!

So whats the secret to almost all these babies sleeping so well during their newborn sessions? Welllllll, I shall let you in on a few of them, I cant give all the secrets away at once right? First of all being comfortable around newborns is key, prior to being a mama I worked in Labor and Delivery, and prior to that was a nanny through college kids have just always been a part of my life, so when they cry, or pee all over everything, or just dont want to settle it just doesnt ruffle my feathers, we just move on. Next step is realizing that NOT all babies want to sleep, as an Annapolis Newborn Photographer my studio is always full of babies of all ages, some of them adore sleeping, some can be talked into sleeping and others just dont want to and they wont.. and that is ok too. There is nothing wrong with having a newborn who doesnt want to sleep as long as they are comfortable, by reading their signs and following their cues it makes it much easier to have a successful session. However Easton, well, he read the handbook in the womb and he was ready for his portrait sessions he was fed, he was happy and he was ready to be photographed!
