Annapolis Newborn, Maternity Photographer | Z family Maternity
As an Annapolis Newborn, Maternity and Family Photographer I work with all different aged children. Regardless of their age though I have learned that for a successful session to take place, I must quickly connect with them on their own level. Having two small daughters of my own, I am surrounded by popular TV shows, toys, and games.. those are usually my starting points.. Childhood small talk if you will. Upon meeting the children at a session, sometimes the older sibling of Newborn or the only child about to be promoted to big sister or brother I try to get on their team quickly, but comfortably.. Gaining their trust is important for the session to take off without a hitch, especially if they will be seeing me for future sessions.
This session was no different! Nicole was about to become a big sister, and had an incredible, bold, and a wee bit silly personality.. just what I would expect from a two year old girl! We chatted about her favorite television shows, her preschool that she attends, and the roles and responsibilities of becoming a big sister! Shortly after we began Nicole became my “assistant” she would stand behind the camera with me as we were photographing mom and dad together, or just mom, she loved tell them what to do and trying to take their photo with my camera as I held it for her. She was such a doll, and so well behaved and loved being in photos by herself, she told me the ones of just her were her favorite!
