A few weeks back I had the chance to meet a sweet family at a gorgeous Anne Arundel County Park that overlooks the Chesapeake bay and the U. S. Naval Academy. This was the first time I had met this family and was excited to photograph their family before their daughter heads off to college!!!
A couple months ago I had participated in an incredible fundraiser for a local family whos son had undergone chemo treatment for cancer, and had stayed at John Hopkins while doing so. During that time they realized that the inpatient children there needed something to distract them, something to help take the attention off of being inside the hospital walls for such a long time. So once this tiny boy had finished his treatments, and was CURED, his sweet mama took it upon herself to organize a fundraising event to fund the purchase of 20 ipads for the inpatient rooms. The event was nothing short of incredibly amazing, so many families, and businesses came together to support a great cause, and have a great time! As an Annapolis Family Photographer I had offered a gift certificate in the silent auction for a mini portrait session. Once I was contacted by the winner I realized that it was surely the perfect family that the gift certificate went to, and I was pleased to meet them and photograph them!
The evening was lovely, as we walked around the park talking about college, and degrees, and topics of study.. you know all the things a gal headed off to college may be thinking of! We had so many laughs, and fun times!!
