I had the incredible opportunity to capture a cake smash session for my assistants sweet baby girl! We had a blast planning the colors, and ordering the romper, and accessories! As an Annapolis Family Photographer, I get many request for nautical photo sessions, and cake smash sessions so it was exciting to plan something a bit different. Daisy was not super excited for her portrait shots in her birthday dress, but as soon as we moved onto the cake, she was like a kid in a candy store… or a small child with a cake rather! She was digging into that cake non stop, it was in her hair, all down her legs, and even on her tiny toes!

As an Annapolis family photographer, I enjoy capturing so many different memories for my client, from new babies, to new houses, wedding, and everything but I really do love Cake Smash session, they are just such a fun documentation of that sweet baby turning one!

Are you thinking of planning a cake smash session for your child? They are incredibly exciting to plan, and watch… there are so many options, and customizations! Keep in mind that if you want the images out to display at baby’s first birthday you should schedule the session about 3weeks to a month out from their actual party date so that you have your edited gallery back in time to purchase prints that you can display at their party!

If you are not planning to display them and want them closer to their actual first birthday that can be done as well! Just make sure to schedule your session early as my schedule fills up fast.
